Designed by Greg Norman in 2002, Doonbeg GC was the third stop for the Iron Lady golfers in their pilgrimage across Ireland. Doonbeg is set along the Atlantic Ocean, and offers spectacular vistas set among massive dunes. Tom Doak says Greg Norman "dialed up the quirk" on Doonbeg, but the general consensus is that Doonbeg is a challenging, yet playable resort course where everyone leaves everyone begging for another go at it.
Our EGM photographers are always up to the challenge of capturing memories on the course that match golfers' bucket list experiences. The terrain and views at Doonbeg provide a stunning backdrop, and combined with the big smiles these ladies were flashing, it's clear Doonbeg is a must play in the area, and more than holds its own against venerable Lahinch and Ballybunion.
