Epic Buddy Trip

In most cases when Epic Golf Memories is performing photographic services, it's at bucket list courses around the world like Old Head, Royal Portrush, Cape Kidnappers, Royal Melbourne, Kingsbarns, Pebble Beach, Cabo Del Sol, Valderrama and Royal County Down, to name a few. But sometimes golf photography is for more than just an epic course. It's the perfect complement to an epic occasion - like a simple golf buddy trip to Florida.

Last weekend, eight friends from New York (and one from California) jumped on a flight to Southwest Florida for a weekend packed with golf - 5 rounds from Friday to Sunday to be precise. We were along for the ride to capture the action, scenery and fun as these friends made memories both on and off the course. Friday's round started early and dewy at the newly renovated Panther Run in Ave Maria which boasted beautifully lush, wide fairways. The afternoon round 2 miles down the road at The National was quite the test, with a water-carry on nearly every single tee shot, and ended with a spectacular sunset (see above). Saturday was a very early day, leaving their accommodations in Naples at 0 dark 30 for an hour long drive up to Sanibel Island. There they played the Sanibel Island Golf Club which had a more native and local feel than Friday's rounds - lots of natural beauty and wildlife, even iguanas! After a quick lunch they hurried off the island to Shell Point Golf Club about 15 away in the direction of Fort Myers, and were greeted by a spectacular layout and beautifully manicured fairways and greens. Exhausted from a long two days of golf and partying Saturday night, the group got themselves up early again on Sunday, split into two groups and played a final round at the only two private courses on the itinerary: Countryside and Cedar Hammock, both in Naples. As great as the other courses were, they certainly saved the best for last and ended a memorable weekend on a high note.

There are friends and then there are golf buddies, and there's a bond with the latter that you just don't experience without that shared love of the greatest game there is. And when you go on a golf trip together, there's no better way to capture those memories and that bond in time, than by having an EGM photographer with you.
